After a wet weekend of trail testing, we are excited to confirm further updates to the BUTM courses for 2025. We have extended the jungle trail from W2 to W3 slightly to include the top of the hill with spectacular views over the surrounding valleys all the way from W1 to W4 (unfortunately no pictures this time as we were in the clouds and rain ☺). This cuts out the narrow ledge trail where we have had a couple of runners fall in the past to a safer option.

A wet weekend on the trails - good for checking stream crossings

We have exchanged a good part of the dirt road section to W1/W8 with a nice new jungle trail section. Similar to the previously announced new trail between W9 and W10, this is nice and shady with several stream crossings with cool refreshing water for a hot day. The 100 km runners will take this option in the morning together with the 50k and 30k, but the old track option for the second loop, reducing the trail overlap on the 100k.
